i hate to harp on road related threads, but is the cog road situation the same as last year? if so is parking allowed at the cog lot or do they get angry?
sort of unrelated, but i've climbed up the ammonoosuc ravine trail late winter before, but is there any real avalanche danger at other times of the year. i know there are many variables to take into consideration, but just in general.
thanks.

Yes, the situation this year appears to be the same as last year. There still is a bit on confusion if the fee is always charged at the cog, but you should be able to park there.

As to avy danger on the Ammonoosuc Ravine trail, I don't believe that there is significant danger. Snow conditions could produce some dangerous loading, but I'm not an avalanche expert. I'll let others chime in here.

no ava danger

I am also not an expert on ava danger - but pretty confident in saying there is very very very little risk of ava danger on that route/trail up. never say never but you should be fine in that regards.
