After completing Allen, Redfield, and Cliff from Flowed Lands in the 2 days previously, this hike seemed like a walk in the park. I had forgotten how well maintained the trails are in the Loj area. Beautiful boardwalks, rock steps, water-bars, foot-bridges - it's unbelievably civilized! There were some mucky areas around Lake Arnold and closer to the summit, but nothing serious. Bugs were a non-issue, but I did see someone near Marcy dam wearing a headnet. An early start is recommended if you wish to avoid the crowds in this vicinity.
