a perfect day to hike this route on a trip postponed from monday. trails leading to bottom of climb had a few patches of mud. most moisture from dyke stream could be avoided without getting too far away from the stream crux.
had not hiked this route since 10 years ago. can not believe what kind of shape i must have been in back then at age 39. did the whole trap dyke route from south meadow to summit in 2hrs 05 mins back in 1996! today it took me nearly twice as long as 10 years ago. does that mean i'll be amazed at yesterday's trip time when i'm 59 (ten years from now)??? gettin olddd!
ps still many standing mud patches on descent to lake arnold. all easily avoided.
