We could bare boot the road, then snowshoeing to the summit of Colvin was easy and challenging were icy but the descent to the Blake col was extremely difficult, hardly any snow in the woods (it’s the sunny side of Colvin), plenty of ice flow, sticking out roots and branches, bare rocks, numerous chutes leading out there down every which way but the trail... in short after plenty of unplanned somersaults, glissades and about-faces we are ready to apply for a job at the Cirque du Soleil!
The final ascent to Blake sported at least twice as much snow and was relatively easy while the descent required a bit of bushwhacking to be on the safe side but offered a few decent butt slides.
