Trail conditions: Excellent throughout..cleared out a few waterbars and one blowdown but otherwise the trail in great shape.. Black flies very pesty by the Holderness Grand Canyon down in the old gravel pit

Equipment: rake and a saw for trail work..wore long sleeves, pants and a hat for the black flies which usuallly don't bother me but are a bother on this trail..particularly near the bottem..one step over blowdown remains...chain saw size...all else cleared

Comments: after having worn out the various trails on the Rattlesnakes the past few weeks it was time for something a bit steeper though not necessarily longer... Cotton Mt fills the bill with a gradual then steeper ascent to a fine viewpoint then a meadering steep and rough at times descent on the Crawford Ridgepole to the Livermore Col from where i follow an old logging road back to the base.. Nice day out on a fine trail through some delightful terrain
