crampon "flexible" or "regular" bar?

Thx for help...need an extention bar for my size 13 columbia ice dragon (-40) boots.....the normal bar is to short...question for those with this boot...which bar do i need?...the flexibe or regular?....It has a some what stiff vibram sole but not really solid like the koflach sole...I'm thinking the regular is the right one but i don't know...have to order it from the company, most stores don't stock them...just my luck..thx

Unless you're using them exclusively for vertical ice climbing, you want the flexible extension. The extension will still be a solid piece of metal, but will allow the crampon to pivot as you walk.

Thx, I should have mentioned that I'm just hiking, not technical climbing.

David, as long as you have a choice, go with the flexible bar. My Grivels came with flexible bars and they work just fine with both soft Columbia boots and the Koflacks.
