Crane is starting to look really beautiful. There is a lot of spotty areas, but bare booting is the way to go. The parking area is still completely covered in soft snow, so we had to park about a halve mile from the trail head. If you did bring snowshoes it would be handy for the first .75 miles however. The pond near the top is still frozen to a good depth so, walking across it is definitely possible just be careful near the eastern parts near the shore. overall Crane is looking amazing and makes for a great hike.
