I've been poking around thru old issues of the 46 magazine, Peeks.
In a 1973 edition it was reported: "Mr Saunders of Elk Lake Lodge stated to us that the lake( Elk Lake ) became extremely muddy on June 23rd of this year following three days of heavy rain. The mud was observed entering from the West Inlet, so the slide must have occurred at that time."
Should have added this - In another early issue, Trudy Healy remarked in the Cliff canister log that that a new slide came down Cliff on 8/17/69.
It would be interesting to know if she climbed the new slide.
