Route - St. Hubert's parking area to Noonmark shoulder, up and down Bear Den, up to Dial.
Our original plan was to continue past Dial to Nippletop and then out via Elk Pass and the Lake Road. Unfortunately we ended up breaking trail for most of the way to Dial. There was only 6 inches of snow on the ascent to the shoulder, but on the way up Bear Den and then Dial the two of us were taking turns breaking trail through a foot and a half of snow - very tiring. We came back the way we went in.
Great day to hike, not too cold, beautiful views of the Great Range.
We only needed snowshoes all day, crampons/microspikes not necessary.
