Kold and blustery day, but we did get a few views and a little blue sky at both summits.
Followed prevoius hikers path in with 3" - 6" - 9" of new fluffy powder. Trail at burned
area became deeper with wind blown snow but still somewhat followable. Was nice to get to Nippletop jct and find it and the rest of the trail to Elk Pass broken out. Was nippy up there, so time at summits were very limited. Great first wtr hike for this season, not sure
how klear the route will be after the winds of late.
Used snowshoes from Lake Rd trail/jct and kept them on for the day.
Crampons karried but kept warm in pack , plenty of wtr gear to stay warm!
