Beautiful Day!
My first hike since suffering a serious right foot injury in a mid-December car accident. The route up to the height of land was broken out nicely already so I flattened it out. It passed a nice open beaver meadow where I had a lunch and a beer, no beavers today!
Sat here for a while in warm sunshine.
Continuing on, near the height of land the tracks bore left off trail and up to a small ledge on a low shoulder of Cone Mtn. by way of an open bushwack. Nice views across the notch, over to Fisher mtn. and a ridge of West Tecumseh, also I could see north to Lafayette, Lincoln, and Liberty. Wasn't expecting a view on this one and was delighted by the find. Next time I will go to the top of this minor shoulder for what I suspect is a better view to the south. Wore snowshoes the entire time. Nice easy snowshoe to start and get back in shape working my bad foot. Didn't see a soul, peaceful. Great to get out!
