Trail in excellent condition, considering the late thaw and the wet spring. Not much mud at all by Adirondack standards. A trail crew cleared blowdown to just beyond the slide a few weeks ago. Thanks to Pete and crew!!! Now a couple new trees down, but nothing difficult to get around, under, or over. Water crossings were all easy, although a few of the rocks on the Boquet crossing are wobbly and a member of my party got her foot wet. Not too much water running down the slide. The steep climb after the slide is a blast, and was relatively free of blowdown. Gear required: Gaitors? Not needed. Poles? If you like them. I stowed mine for the steep up and down climbs. Traction aids? Took the microspikes just in case some of the running water up high had frozen, as it was pretty cold Friday night. Just turned out to be extra weight in the pack. Bug dope? Nope. Sunscreen: Yes!
