Hi every body,
Just a couple informations, may be help one or two peoples for the next days.
The October 17, after a raining weekend in teaching orienteering cours, in North of Montreal, We hiked Dix Range from Elk Lake with a early start (6 a.m.).
The trail was cover with a lot of water!!!
The big surprise was when We was able to see the Dix top, White is a nice color for the spirit but not for a rocky peak!!
We need more a 20 minutes to negociate the last 200 feet, all was icy and sleppery!!!
Every body have a plan to hike aver 3500 feet will have a better luck to catch your goal if You put your crampons in your packsack!!!
When We returned the gate was close but unloke, (just to give the informations) Elk Lake approach will close the October 22 (hunter deer season)!!!to the first December weekend.
Have a good hike....under snow or icy rain for the next month....Yes the unpredibale season is on from of Us.... :
