Haven't seen a trail report on this in some time so let me just say the trail is in excellent condition - no blowdowns, no streams, no bugs and only one stretch of mud and water. Nice view from Squam south, and Doublehead area north. The road was in good enough condition for a car at least up to the trailhead from the south. While Morgan and Percival's trailheads were packed as we drove back, we saw only one other group on our section. This was a most pleasant hike, in its own way as enjoyable as our hike up the Twins was yesterday. The might tough little dog not only kept the bears away (as he always does) but he drove a few grouse off as well.
