Heading to the Greeley Pond Trail on the Kanc., we saw a mother dear and 2 baby deer in the road. We slowed down and they jumped off the road.

We got to the trailhead and there was noone else there. We geard up and were on our way.

In no time we were on the Mt. Osceola trail.

It didn't take long for the trail to get steep. There were a couple of blowdowns that were cut out from the trail.

We reached the rocky slide and a great view of Greeley Pond. We both thought that the slide looked hard to go up but once we started, we didn't have a problem.

It took a little while but we made it to East Osceola. We took a break and some pictures.

On the way to Osceola, there was three tree's over the trail that were a little difficult to go over. There were also many tree's that have been cut from the trail.

Soon, we were at the Chimney. Cotton said that she didn't think she could make it. We checked it out for a few minutes and she went up. I waited until she got to the top before my ascent. The views started to open up but the clouds were rolling in.

We saw a clearing in the woods and soon we were on Osceola. There was a man taking a break on the summit. We took lunch break and many pictures. Pretty soon several other hikers were on the summit. We took a long break, then we headed back.

We headed back the same way we came. Once we were heading down E. Osceola, it seemed to take forever to reach the trail junction. When we finally made it the Greeley Pond Tr. it took us no time getting back to the car.

Shortly after we started back home, a bull moose was crossing the road. He was in our lane and we stopped the car. I was able to get a few pictures of him. Several other cars stopped behind us to see the moose.

This was our first hike this year and we agreed that the Osceola's was the toughest 7.6 miles we have done yet.
