Trails Used: Greeley Ponds Trail, Mt. Osceola

Trail Conditions: From the trailhead, the snow was packed nicely as this is a favorite route for many hikers &/or walkers. There are a few minor blowdowns that were easy to step over or go around and overall no issues. Mt.Osceola Trail was also well broken out but a bit softer than expected so you could post hole a bit, unless you were wearing snow shoes.

Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes, crampons or micro-spikes. Our group wore micro-spikes to the Mt Osceola Trail and a mix of crampons or microspikes on Mt. Oscela Trail. Another group had snowshoes from parking lot in & out and others used crampons from intersection with Greely Pond/Mt Osceola Trail. Bottom line, some traction is needed going on the steeps.

Weather: Actually the weather was perfect even though it was windy, we never really got hit with such severe wind that it would knock you over. The sun kept a smile on your face.

Comments: Met several groups, most notably Rob & Tim who we hiked with on & off throughout the day. All in all, another great day in the Whites.
