From rt 112, right from the parking lot, snow rails! We dorned micro spikes and that worked. Poles helpful. Water crossings ok.
Upwards of 2500ft, 2-3 feet of snow, hardpack rail, but due to high temps, lots of slipping and sliding. Crampons or snowshoes helpful, microspikes helped too, but bare boot tough not to sliiiiidde a down! Shorts worked well- nice shots of me in shorts dorning snowshoes- high temps!
Almost surreal.
Have fun out there and be careful!
