Trails: Edmands Path: about half dozen bigger blowdowns, step over/under, one with herd path forming on the left; otherwise drainage appeared to be working well on this nicely maintained trail...
Mt. Eisenhower Loop up and back: good shape;
Crawford Path to Mt. Eisenhower jct.: no issue
Mt. Eisenhower Trail: narrow in places (car wash) up higher, but really no major blowdowns; used crocs to cross the Dry River to check out the area of the jct. of Dry River Trail (closed still I guess) and Mt. Eisenhower Trail...the campsite at the crossing area looked to be in good shape and had been used over nite by 3 hikers preparing for sectional AT hiking soon and they had descended yesterday late and headed back up today of course;
Dry River Cutoff: second crossing, good amount of damage from Irene, one had to walk up the brook bed to locate where the trail crosses and takes a sharp left and then an immediate right...there is flagging but it can be confusing..we rock hopped on the crossings on this trail, and again, not really any major obstacles with blowdowns etc...
Mt. Clinton Trail: at jct with Dry River Cutoff, no sign for the Mt Clinton Trail (is it going to be discontinued??) and getting near the Mizpah Hut, a huge tangle of blowdowns in a couple of spots, close together, crawling was the only way to get past them..that will take a day or two (maybe more) of pro crew work!! hiked down Mizpah Cutoff and Crawford Path to spotted vehicle and back to Edmands Path trailhead for second vehicle...had pumpkin bisque soup and bread at Mizpah...thanks to Rod for exploring new area, it was a very nice forest for sure...
