EMS New Policy?

Beware.

I took my old pack (> 5 yrs old) to the North Conway EMS for a very minor repair (1/2 inch tear {parting} on seam of top of pack).

I was told $20/day rental (not a loaner) for alternate pack and minimum $16 for the sewing repair. Pack would be available in 3 to 4 weeks.

This all surprised me. When asked, EMS folks stated that this is the new policy for equipment > 5 yrs old.

I told them to forget it and had the local seamstress do the repair.

I called EMS home office and confirmed the new policy.
