Equinox - 10/7/12
We accessed the trailhead by parking at the hikers' lot at the HOL on West Union St. off of Seminary Ave.
Followed the blue blazes, marked as the "Summit Trail." The trail was steep almost without a break all the way to the top. The lower half of the trail, to about 2400' was wide and flat. Above this, it was a more typical roots and rocky NE trail.
2780' gain to the summit. After enjoying reading about some local history in the summit building, headed over to Lookout Rock.
From Lookout Rock, followed "Yellow Trail" back over to Blue Trail.
Steep, hard descent.
