Esther and Whiteface 9-30-06

For those of you who hiked in the Adirondacks this past weekend know what an awesome day it was. Temps in the mid 40's sun shining....what a day. I am pretty sure leaves were in the peak this weekend. Here are some PICTURES so you can see what I am talking about. I am not going to write much as I will let the pictures explain my trip report

I, too, was on Whiteface Saturday... if you looked down the Ski Slides or Lake Placid Slide, you may have seen me. Perfect weather with perfect valley color. Did you get to see the rime ice on the summit, or had it melted by the time you got there?

It was still there what an awesome site. You could really see it from Esther looking at Whiteface. The ice was still there as we were leaving the summit too.

So were you on the summit or down at October Fest

Neither. The summit was so crowded that I just hiked up and over without stopping. But the German music funneling up the ski slide definitely gave the ascent a European alpine feel!
