When: saturday 3/26/11
From: Route 41 trailhead
Route: Out and Back
A nice hike up past race brook falls. Snow was pretty solid due to cold overnight temps, a thin layer of snow over hard ice, but it was grippy enough and gradual enough not to need any traction aids. Microspikes might of been useful but only in so small spots, I never used it. The approach to Everett from the col has some glare ice in spots whereas the approach to race is pretty much snow though snowshoes are not needed, the monorail is in effect!
Views were awesome on a sunny blue sky.
