Extra wide winter boots - New Balance 1099

While looking at a Cabelas catalog I noticed they are carrying new - New Balance winter boots. They are offered in wide (EE) and extra wide (EEEE). Generally New Balance makes a good product although their winter boots tend to be hit or miss. The other caveat is that New Balance shoes in general tend to run a half size small so if you do mail order them, make sure the vendor has a good exchange policy.

They represent the boots are waterproof so I expect they will be best using vapor barrier socks.

The other thing in general with extra wide boots and shoes is that the manufacturers dont make a lot of them and most retailers only stock a few if any. The large wide sizes usually sell out quickly and generally when a retailer is out of stock, they cant get any more.

I have a pair of 13 EEEE on order.
