Hike Date: August 21, 2010

Targets: Flume, Liberty, and Owl’s Head

Weather permitting, Sue and I are planning to hike Flume, Liberty, and Owl’s Head. We’ll start off meeting at Lincoln Woods to spot a vehicle and then head to the Whitehouse trailhead near the Flume Visitor Center for the hike. Our plan is to ascend Flume Slide to Franconia Ridge Trail and head across Flume to Liberty. Then, we’ll backtrack to a location in the col between Liberty and Flume for the bushwhack off the ridge to Lincoln Brook Trail. The bushwhack route will be the same one we used last fall. From there we’re on a traditional Owl’s Head hike via the Owl’s Head Slide.

We’re planning to use trails all of the way out. Consequently, we’ll bring water shoes in case they are helpful in crossing Lincoln and Franconia brooks.

We expect an early meet time at Lincoln Woods and a full-day hike.

As usual, our pace will be moderate or a little over book time. With the needed breaks we’ll probably come in at around 125% of book time.

If you’re interested in joining the fun or have any questions, please respond to this thread or by PM.

:D

I won't check this thread again before the hike.

If anybody decides to join the fun, we're planning on arriving to Lincoln Woods at approximately 4:30am.
