I started from the Flume parking area on Monday 10/3 about 8:30am, (after calling in sick to work) and went up the Flume Slide Trail. The AMC guidebook said the trail was challenging, and it was, but when I really needed to something to grab onto, it was there. The views from the summits of Flume and Liberty were awesome. Temps in the 60's and no clouds. The views into the Pemi wilderness made the whole trip worthwhile, and IMO, that's why we go out and climb the mountains. Thanks to all who posted advise and offered tips on going up the slide.
