date of hike;2-11-10
tr. cond;worked our way up MCcoy mt. from sanborn hill rd. from the north. Up and over to Fort mt. and back.Snow was very irregular, mostly deeper on northern faces of mts.,lots of bare patches all over the place.Mostly hardwoods made for a easy wack with logging also helping us in spots.Area has been extensively logged over the years leaving open areas. We followed some logging rds. a bit with lots of ice on them making them worse then being offtrail.
spec. equip;gaitors and good shell for the wind which was nippy for such small mountains.
microspikes were needed today.
coments;rare non solo hike with El gringo.lots of fun going off the grid for a day.saw lots of animal tracks. sun was out with some wind.cool time hiking with El gringo who turns 70 in a couple of weeks.
