Franconia Falls

Anybody know if there is still a 60-person limit to Franconia Falls per day off Lincoln Woods? The FS used to issue free permits in order to visit (this was back in 2002), but I think they dropped this program.

Might make a visit this weekend and would be arriving in the afternoon so permits, if they still do this, could be gone. Anybody know for sure?

I'm getting the sense that they just removed descriptions of Franconia Falls from all of their handouts/publications and their website to reduce traffic that way....
