Friday and Balsam Cap (Catskills) 6/11/11

Well, it was WET! It rained almost the entire time. I brought 2 rain jackets, 2 pairs of socks, and 2 shirts, and they all got a serious workout! But I was still soaked at the end! We took more or less the standard route up from Moon Haw Road. We had a group of 11, and it was slow, but steady progress. It stopped raining for a few minutes when we got to the top of BC, but it did not last long. Congrats to Tonda on finishing the C35!

P.S. The herd path from 3000' or so up is probably better than the PHWB trail!

I saw the photos of soaking wet clothing and gear. Getting caught in an all day rain in a 'whack is one thing. Starting out in it another....You're much more committed than I. Meant in both senses of the word. Nice perserverance.
