Cotton and myself were on the Gale River Tr. by 7:10am. We spotted my truck on Haystack Road because we planned on going up Galehead and over to the Twins.

It was raining when we started. It was still raining by the time we reached the Garfield Ridge Tr. It was still raining when we got to Galehead Hut. We took a quick break and headed up Galehead. The summit was clouded in but there was an American flag on the summit cairn.

We headed back to the hut and ate lunch. There were no views from the hut and it was still raining.

We decided not to head over to the Twins so we headed back down the Garfield Ridge and Gale River trails.

The rain kept the bugs away, and also the views. It did get a little buggy near the trailhead.

Even though the hike didn't go as planned, we had a good hike and one more for Cotton's 48.

So, Cotton, do like hiking in the rain more than in the snow? Glad the weather is not keeping you guys away from the trails. You will just appreciate even more those sunny days that are sure to come.
