First one up the Gale River trail on Saturday. An inch of new snow at the trailhead, increasing to 4-6 near the Galehead hut. Deep drifts and nearly buried signage made the excursion up Galehead interesting. Minimal views. Started the steep climb to South Twin and encountered 10 - 18" of unbroken, drifted snow with no indication of previous travelers. Very slow and difficult going. Near the summit was passed by a group of 8 or so heading from North Twin; their passage certainly made the descent easier. No views on South Twin, but the summit had cleared nicely by the time I had returned to the hut. :-/
