Gale river trail had a few tracks from the weekend up to Galehead hut. Gale river trail was barebootable for awhile but then a switch to snowshoes was a better choice. Three crawl under blowdowns. Twinway to S. Twin wasn't used this weekend. I broke trail though about 6" of new snow with a thin frozen crust. My MSR lightning ascents did real well, especially the televator heels (the greatest thing since sliced bread). My fifth time on South Twin and the first time that I was finally able to get some views. A beautiful day with sun and mild temps and not a breath of wind. Garfield ridge trail in the direction of Garfield was not broken out. Passed three backpackers on my descent, so trail is more or less broken but not packed. The next two days of rain will probably mess things up.
