Nice report & good pics, thanks. You made good time over to Galehead and back. I heard the wind pick up during the night. It must have been when the front came through with rain here. Yes, those fool hens can scare the bejeez out of you. Funny critters. Was there much ice packed into the the trail near 4K? Crampons?
 
Thanks Waumbek. Yep, still a good bit of ice/hard packed snow around 4k'. I used my crampons for some of that final .2 mile stretch up Garfield, but after going a hundred feet, it was another hundred feet on bare, ice-free rock to the summit, and they came right back off. The ridge walk between Garfield and Galehead was easy going and not too slickery.

Damn those fool hens. Damn them to hell! :D
