Trails: Mt Garfield, Garfield Ridge Trail/AT, Greenleaf Trail, Bike Path
Mileage 14.8
Who: Una_dogger, BobnGeri (Bob), Terra the Trail Dog
Conditions:
Mt Garfield trail - perfect, some nice new water bars and filling in of erroded areas
Garfield Ridge Trail - excellent. I like this much maligned section of trail between Garfield and N Lafayette. Bog bridges in good shape. Saw many campsites along ridge right off trail that could use some brushing over.
AT over N and Main Lafayette Peaks - excellent.
Greenleaf Trail below Hut to Rd: excellent shape and a really nice trail that I got to redline today. Looks to be a new slide to the south directly across from Eagle Cliff? Anyone know about it??
Summary: A great day to be out, had hoped to go all the way to Falling Waters descent but high winds, hail and spitting rain above treeline shortened our trip.
2nd time on Garfield, 2nd time in fog. 6th time on Lafayette, making it my most climbed 4k in the Whites!
