Trail Conditions: We parked at the "closed" area that showed no signs of anything but hiker traffic..Road walk was rough in places with ice chunks etc..barebooted out but kept the snowshoes on back to the car..Water crossings solid though interesting.. Trail packed out and consolidated..we barebooted to the just above the water crossings then donned snowshoes for the rest..Snow got softer and fresher as we climbed..Scramble up from the junction was perfect in snow shoes with no ice..

Equipment: poles and snowshoes..no wind on the summit today so we hardly layered up at all..quite mild

Comments: we were a bit concerned about the approaching storm..been so long for snow you forget..we saw a few flakes on descent but overall a fine day for hike with amazing views from the summit area..Moderate temps and light winds allowed us to linger for awhile.. A few less blowdowns as we cleared a couple on descent..bonus day out...very nice
