George Frederick Pearlstein, 76, died April 20, 2010. He was a longtime member and past president of the Green Mountain Club, who was at one time supervisor of the Long Trail Patrol and created the first edition of the "Day Hiker's Guide to Vermont." He had completed seven Long Trail end to ends and was the first person to hike the Long Trail end to end in winter. He had also visited the highpoint of every town in VT (251 or 255 counting gores) hence accidentally was the first to visit all the county highpoints.
[If the highpoints are too hard, you can just visit (http://www.vt251.com/) or geocache (GC1FAMD) the towns.]
