TRAIL CONDITIONS:
Although the snow depth on the trail up to the Falls isn't all that deep, I was comfortable wearing snowshoes for added stability and to prevent breaking through the crusty snow. As you near the upper portions, the trail becomes very rocky and boulder strewn. At this point, I switched to microspikes.
Water crossings were ice-bridged. However, despite the recent frigid weather, some of these bridges were unreliable. You need to carefully test each step at each water crossing.
Blowdowns were a non-issue.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
I was unable to break free from a project until Saturday around noon. This didn't leave a lot of time. So, a plan was quickly concocted for a short hike up the Georgiana Falls Trail. Then from the end of this trail, I did a short bushwhack to Bog Eddie which is a place I'd never been before. Photos and some additional details about this trek are located in the Trip Reports forum.
