Life after 46.....

Hey there,
I have'nt been to the ADK's in a little while, so I'm itching to get back out there. Hopefully, some time in August.
I'm looking for suggestions on nice hikes in the northern ADK's. ( anything north of whiteface )
I was thinking about Lyon Mtn. However, it does not have to be on the NYHH.
Anything worthy of checking out, I would like to hear about.

Thanks, Steve-o

Hike Catamount. Not too far from Whiteface. Its a nice little hike. It has a bald peak so you get a 360 vew. And, if you hit at the right time lots of blue berries to eat.

I second the vote for catamount, great hike. trail head a little hard to find but I have directions at home if you plan on going. Alittle to the east is the jay range which is a great hike also.

It sure does, but I would call that the Southern ADKs! :D

I wouldn't. It's south of most of the high peaks but still north of much of the park.

Catamount is great. What about Debar? Pokomoonshine? St. Regis?

Wilmington and Morgan. Just north of Whiteface.

Hey,
Thanks for the feedback!

Have'nt done Adams yet.Walked by it many times.Unfortunatly, to far south for this trip.
Amperstand is VERY high on my list.
Catamount has me interested, as well as the Jay range.
I'll probably be based in Jay.
Guess I better get some topo's of the area.

Thanks, Steve-o
