All, can you recommend some 4000 footers that you think might be accessible (roads open, not too much snow) at the end of this week. I haven't been up north since the summer and it's hard for me to gauge the possibilities.

I'm thinking Hale, or Garfield maybe? Osceola? Am I dreaming that these are still fairly doable (without crampons). I've seen some posts from a week ago, but I'm wondering if the recent warm weather (up to 60 some days down in Mass) had any effect on snow levels up there...

You could look at trails like Dicey Mills on Mt Passaconaway. The road to it is open year-round and easy to get to. There was a trip report from a couple days ago that said the trails were pretty much clear. Dicey Mills is a very gradual climb, there can be some icy patches above the junction with Rollins trail but generally not that bad. Keep an eye on the weather, conditions change fast this time of year.
