It's on the ski bowl road in North Creek, just North of the ski center, and just before the junction of 28 and 28N. Follow the ski bowl road around to the right and the trail parking is right there. The trail goes up the steep grassy hill. Nice hike, pretty steep.

>>Gore Mountain Trailhead
The trailhead for Gore is located at the North Creek Ski Bowl. If approaching from the south on Route 28, turn left onto Ski Bowl Road (.3 miles north of the 28/28N intersection at North Creek). There is a large DEC sign for the trail. There is another DEC sign for the Schafer Trail .3 miles down Ski Bowl Road on the right. You can park across from the sign. The hike is about 9 miles round trip with some significant elevation gain. <<

there is a large building at the intersection of 28 & the road to the trail head (it may be a medical center or an old age home) i remember there were 2 roads to the ski center from route 28, one with a ski center sign and the next with the DEC sign (when traveling west on 28). you do not go to the parking lot with the ski lodge - the trail & register start from a small parking area near a small ski lift on a grassy hill.
