Path in occassionally hard to follow because of leave cover. Ice on the rocks at the water crossings in the morning. The slide is first wet then completely iced. I retreated to the herdpath encountering 3-5 inches of snow. Up on the ridge snow covers not quite frozen mud and some slick ice. I wore microspikes from the slide until the return to the leaves. Lovely day up high, and enormous fresh bear tracks between carson and grace.
