Yesterday work was slow so I took a couple of hours to rut around in Grafton Notch, Maine. Few black flies. Remarkable because I saw a fox, a moose, and a BEAR in the space of a two hour hike!

Nice sightings...
the black flies are in full force up here in the Orono area. Although they still seem to be in their swarming stage and not yet hungry.

As I am fond of telling my wife, It is just the males out now. The bloodletting starts when the females fly!
