Via Rt 73:
Day 1 - Hedgehog, LWJ, UWJ, Armstrong, Gothics
Day 2 - Saddleback, Basin, out via Phelps/Johns Brooks
A long trip (two 12 hr days) might be better breaking up in to three days.
The usual; gaiters, trekking pole, rain gear, layered warm clothes.
Not many black flies while moving, bug spray definitely helps when resting.
Trails in generally in good condition.
Filled up on water between LWJ and UWJ down the junction a bit.
Not much pump-able water after that.
I forgot how tricky/dangerous it its coming down Saddleback to Basin.
Had a 40lb pack on which made it treacherous.
Bring a rope to lower pack down if carrying a heavy load.
The cables are up on Gothics so that is no problem.
