Has anyone ever hiked up the Gulf of Slides headwall via one of the slides? The AMC guide describes the trail as a dead-end unless 'someone wishes to make the difficult ascent via one of the slides' (or something like that). I'm always looking for new slides to try.

Thanks.

I've climbed them in winter, in tele boots carrying my skis, so they can't be that difficult in summer. :) I imaging the second gully wouldn't be bad in summer, perhaps a little easier than the first. The ski trail hike in might not be as pleasant, it's not really maintained as a hiking trail.

if you do, please take pics of any odd-looking vegetation. :D

I've done it. The slide was not that bad but didn't have an obvious footway, there was a little scrub at the top.

That sounds fun! I've never been in Gulf of Slides so I'm looking forward to my first time. From Glen Boulder Trail, above treeline, I've noticed an exposed ridge, with no trail, between Glenn Boulder and Boott Spur. I've thought about climbing one of the slides to that ridge. Aughman, I promise to take pics if I do it. ;)

Happy Trails :)
