Quick jaunt up and back down the Halfway House Trail from Underhill State Park. Left the park at 0730, and started up the Halfway House Trail from the CCC Road at 0800. Ridge at 0900 - exactly the time the Auto Road opens, so no crowds at the Summit House - Yet!
Quick descent got us back to the State Park Trailhead at 10:30 - saw dozens of people headed up during our descent. Two blowdowns that were partly in the trail - as with all the trails on Mansfield, the trail is well-maintained, easy to follow, FUN!
Haze was diminishing, but the Adirondacks were still not clear and distinct.
