Trail conditions: Good. Mostly hard packed. A few post holes but all avoidable. Parking area skating rink.

special equipment required: Traction if you come down the North peak. Sno shoes not needed (if it warms up you may need them) Used crampons on the way down North Peak.

Comments: Started out -1 degree on Friday. Nice hiking weather. Did not make summit. Old timers need to stay in shape. (failed there!) All snow bridges in good shape. Lots of in your face fir trees on lower section. Mostly Frozen crust with good solid base. started at 8:00 am out at 1:30. Did 8.0 miles. Nice views from 3970 FT ... I'll be back ... 12/22/2009 to start over again for my Winter 4000's
