Date of Hike: 1/31/09
Trail Conditions: All trails coming from the Hancock Overlook Parking Area I'm sure are as packed as a super highway; not so much the case first thing this morning. At least 15 friendly folks hiking the trail today. River crossings and blowdowns are not a problem. Branches are face height between the peaks.
Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes w/traction for steeps, poles def helpful
Comments: HANCOCK OVERLOOK PARKING AREA IS NOT PLOWED! Only a few places for 2WD to park. Many overnighters which means very few spots to keep from blocking them in as well. Started solo and luckily ran into a father and son that were great company and helped break trail. Great meeting you both; happy hiking!
