trails: hancock notch, cedar brook, hancock loop
conditions: hancock notch trail pretty dry. cedar brook had the usual muddy areas. lower part of loop trail had some large mud patches mixed with crusty ice. north branch of loop dry and in great shape. patchy trace snow and ice on ridge with most of the muddy areas frozen pretty solid. some snow and ice on south branch. not enough for traction, but enough to necessitate a little caution in spots. water crossings all low.
equipment: nothing special.
comments: great hike in the hancocks. nice temps and good conditions on the ground. didn't feel much like november.
