Haystack from JBL

Trail conditions were excellent up to Bushnell Falls and still good beyond that. Creek crossings were a little sketchy, as the above freezing temps and rain softened things up a bit. Conditions from the break-off to Marcy were good, but crampons were a near necessity once we reached Little Haystack.

For those heading up to the area, nobody had broken out the Shorey Short-Cut to Basin, but looked like someone may have headed to Basin from Haystack. A group we ran into at Bushnell Lean-to was planning on hiking Marcy today.
