Haystack

Anyone been up Haystack in the last few days, just wondering on conditions and what to bring...thanks for any input..

Expected lots of ice, so brink your crampons and ice Axe. Last sunday
I was hiking to Porter from Highway 73 and it was very icy. No problem
to reach the summit with the used of crampons.

Will do...plan on hiking Haystack Saturday..just wasn't sure about heavy duty crampons or the lighter version..probably bring both just in case...

I would bring both. But a more agressive type of yactrax might be ok. It was near sixty in Placid today, so everything was melting. But it's going to still refreeze at night. Like you said, bring both.
