Yet again, the Saco River is running really high right now. It's been warm and rainy all week in the southern White Mountains; much of the snow has melted, although there's a pretty dusting this morning.

The rivers all around the Western Whites are up quite a bit too, which we will all have to consider when making our trail choices for hikes this weekend.

And this morning, the light dusting of snow on I-93 turned into a sort of black-ice, and there were numerous accidents / roll overs between Thornton & New Hampton.

The Pemi spiked yesterday too. It's running out now but overall remains higher than the 11-year average. The high number of blowdowns all over the region reflects how saturated the ground is.

Yes, it's of a yearling moose down the road last week. Yes, bears are still out here. One knocked off a neighbor's bird feeder the other night.
